Timelapse Landscapes of Israel taken in the last years
Israel's huge variety of landscapes belies its compact size. It's possible from north to south in less than a day and to drive from west to east in under 2 hours, and yet despite many years of exploring this fascinating country I find there are still so many undiscovered corners I have yet to visit.

The Raptors of israel

I added a video compilation of raptors taken in israel in the last years
most of these species are under threat of extinction  mainly due to habitat loss.

new footage from the hula valley, Israel

 A majestic spectacle of nature...

About 30,000 cranes pass through Israel in the winter. They can be found mainly in Lake Hula. Till the beginning of the 90's of the twentieth century, cranes did not use to stay in the Hula Valley.  Most of them crossed the valley to reach other places. When farmers started growing peanuts, the cranes began to land in the fields and they destroyed the crops. This situation created troubles between the farmers and the cranes. Indeed, while cranes beautify Israel for some time, they also cause destruction which is sometimes intolerable.
In view of the situation, a study was conducted to provide a solution to the problem. It suggested alternative feeding areas. This will provide the needs of birds whilst they will be taken away from the fields. Farmers have allocated two thousand (2,000) acres of land which is utilised as feeding station for the cranes—three to four (3-4) tons of corn kernels are scattered in the fields daily. The operation became successful. Albeit the stay of thousands of cranes in the Hula Valley during winter, they now no longer cause damage to the agriculture.
